The first non-regulatory guide envisioned under the RFO is now available.

The FAR Council has developed the FAR Companion to assist acquisition officials in exercising their discretion within the recently rewritten FAR parts. This guide offers context, additional information, and practical advice for all stages of contracting, planning, awarding, managing, and closing out, while remaining consistent with the FAR's core buying principles. The FAR Companion is a dynamic resource, intended to establish a foundational discretionary practice that complements the FAR. Version 1.0 includes an initial release covering FAR parts 1, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 18, 26, 28, 29, 31, 33, 34, 35, 36, 38, 39, 40, 43, 46, 49, 50, and 51.

Additionally, Acquisition.gov has refreshed the design and layout of the RFO landing page to improve usability and visual appeal. We’ve also developed a new practitioner album page, which offers access to all existing albums in one convenient location. Together, these updates are designed to enhance the overall user experience.
