Please check the most popular Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) below for answers to many of your questions.

Note: Do not ask us to interpret the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), other regulations, or policies.

Q. How to sign up to receive FAR News email alerts?
Q. Where can I buy a hard copy of the FAR?

A. The Federal Government no longer produces a hard copy of the FAR.  By the time they are printed, the FAR has already changed multiple times.  The FAR is only produced in a paper copy by 3rd party vendors (see https://goo.gl/FdLeK8).

Q: Are you experiencing slowness while using Acquisition.gov?

A: The Acquisition.gov team monitors the responsiveness of the website to determine that it is functioning optimally.

Please consider the following questions:

1) What browser are you using (ie Internet Explorer, edge, safari, etc.)?

If you are using Internet Explorer (IE), Microsoft has determined an end of life date for IE. We recommend changing to any other browser as soon as possible.

2) Are you VPN'd into a military network?

VPN’s have a tendency to slow down all websites, including acquisition.gov

3) Have you tried accessing the website outside of the military network and/or tried a personal computer to determine if the issue is the computer you are using?

Typically, one or more of the issues above are the issue. The Acquisition.gov team monitors all "contact us" messages. We seldom see messages in reference to responsiveness (less than 1 per month). That normally means that responsiveness issues are isolated events.

If you have considered and tried to mitigate the issue using the about suggestions, please feel to “contact us”

Q. How do you download the FAR or GSAR on the Kindle and iBook?

A.  For instruction on how to download the FAR and GASR on any device can be found at https://www.acquisition.gov/mobileaccess

If you are a member of the public who has a policy or regulation interpretation question, the General Services Administration (GSA) recommends that you contact the contracting officer for the particular solicitation or contract. The contracting officer interprets the FAR for any specific solicitation or contract.

If you are a federal employee seeking guidance on policy or regulation interpretation, GSA recommends that you start with contacting your agency policy office or legal counsel.

GSA is only one of the three agencies that issue the FAR, the other two being the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and the Department of Defense. We do not jointly issue formal opinions on the FAR.

For all media requests, please contact press@gsa.gov.

You may report possible errors in the FAR or the General Services Administration Acquisition Manual (GSAM) using the form below. To report potential errors for other agency supplements, contact the specific agency contact.

Please be as detailed as possible in your error report. The Acquisition.gov team will not respond to policy or regulation interpretation questions.
