Harmonize Training

Harmonize Requirements and Standardized Collection of Non-Financial Training Prior to Issuance of an Award - Non-Financial Investigator training requirements (e.g. Financial Conflict of Interest, Responsible Conduct of Research, Research with Human Subjects), are convoluted because acceptable subject matter and timelines for completion vary by agency. Non-financial training requirements should be harmonized to reduce duplication and inconsistency. As research regulations continue to evolve, institutions invest in expensive commercial or home-grown systems for compliance. Creation and maintenance of these systems comes with a cost. The addition of a central portal is necessary to uniformly affirm non-financial certifications and research compliance awareness training completion. All non-financial training and verification items should be verified in a “Just-In-Time” style prior to issuance of an award.
